Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

Today I am joining Brian's Thankful Thursday blog hop. He is recruiting blog hoppers fur this, so if you feel thankful, do consider going over there and joining. It's at Brian's Home.

I have a lot to be grrrreatful fur. Fur starters, I have a furever home with peeps who love me. They let me hog the computer and they give me treats. What dog wouldn't be thankful?

Pawever, I want to let you know about something I feel grrreatful fur today. It's my new fur cut and about something my groomer found that makes me feel better.

As some of you might remember, I had an appointment at Spa Dog yesterday. Spa Dog is a grrreat place in Vancouver fur dogs to get their furs cut. My groomer's name was Angela and she is gentle and good with dogs.

While Angela was working on me, she found a matt behind one of my ears. It was small, but at the same time it was all twisted and pulling at the sensitive skin I have behind my ears.  When she removed it, she noticed that I had a bruise behind my ear and that the area around it was swollen.  They called it a Haematoma.

Nobuddy realized it, but I had been going around with real pain from this and it would have become worse if Angela hadn't noticed.
It's a relief to have the problem fixed. Now I feel much better!

So today I am thankful that the pain behind my ear has gone away! I think we should break out the treats.

I took some selfies when I was at Spa Dog. They were pretty good "before"and "after" photos with Angela. The problem is thateven though I sent them from Mimi's phone to this computer, they still haven't arrived! I can't wait because I hafta get over to Victoria today. Sooo, BOL!! I am posting this instead:

I will post pics of my new furcut when I can!

I am also thankful to my good furends, Jonathan, Lucy and their mom fur the Spa Dog gift certificates they gave me last Christmas. Thanks to them, my matts are all gone and I feel like a new dog!

Here is a photo of me, taken last December,  with Jonathan and Lucy:

See how nice they are to me?

Thank you Angela, Jonathan and Lucy (and their mom)!

More of This and That

Louisdog Armstrong's This and That

1. This

Mimi is furends with Bonnie, who is one of our neighbors. Sometimes when she visits Bonnie I get to go with her, like I did a couple of evenings ago. Mimi, Bonnie and a few of their furends watched a movie called Anne of Green Gables. It's a very Canadian story and all of them read the book a million years ago when they were young girls.

Bonnie has a cat named Little Miss, who has arthritis. Little Miss slept on a chair the entire time while I had treats and snoopervised. I am so happy that Little Miss doesn't mind it when dogs visit them!

Bonnie and Little Miss

2. That

We are planning another trip to Victoria, to visit with Grandma Rose. I will be going to the Residential Care facility where Grandma Rose lives, so Mimi made an appointment fur me to have a furcut at the dog spa on Wednesday. They all know me there and I like them, only I wish that Mimi would stay fur my appointment. Instead, she just drops me off! Not nice!

Here I am with Kalee, one of my groomers, after my last appointment:

3. This

How do you like this fur a self pawtrait? I like to mess around with free photo editing programs. This one was done with Picsart.

4. That

I am a peace dog and I like to think that almost everybuddy loves it when lambs and wolves can be peacefully together.  All dogs are descended from wolves so when I look at this picture I imagine the wolf to be me!

5. This

I will end this post with a few words about a problem I am having with the dog v/s cat policy around here. Now that the weather is becoming warmer, the kitty, Hazuzu,  goes outside more. In the day time he actually gets to decide fur himself how often he can leave the house. Night time is another matter: he has to stay in after dark because of the coyotes and the raccoons that live around here.

Hazuzu
Pawever, nobuddy ever lets me go outside by myself. Why is that? I would love to roam around the neighborhood and I am sure that I would always find my way back home like Hazuzu does. Why don't they trust me?

well, my furends, that is that and this was this and that fur today. I hope you are all well,
Until Next Time,

Your seat is waiting fur you now! Just follow this link.

To make up fur the delay, we ordered some delectible delights fur you. Help yurselves and enjoy the shows!

Blogville Film Fest and Bacon Harvest

Finally, Saturday is here. I headed over to Angel Sammy and Teddy's Bacon Harvest Bash early this morning and let me tell you, there were no disappointed anipals there! If you haven't been there yet,do take a look. There is plenty of bacon fur everybuddyand it is going on all day.

Here is my photo. I harvested this whole box of bacon and they said I can take it home with me!

Yep, I love bacon!

Here is the bacon that Sammy and Teddy gave me. There is enough fur everybuddy, so you can pick some up when you are there.

Hazuzu will love this!
The Canadian Cats gave everyone a BACON BOUQUET. I am giving mine to Mimi as a present. She loves all kinds of  flowers.

Bacon bouquet

Now that I have been to the bacon event, it is time fur the Blogville Comedy Film Festival.  It is held at the Blogville Arts and Entertainment website and you are welcome to join me there.

All of the films were selected by residents of Blogville and they all will make you smile.

We have popcorn with sardine sprinkled topping and chewy bones fur the dogs, plus much, much more!

Fabulous Friday!

Hazuzu the Cat here, filling in fur my bro Louisdog who is busy setting things up fur the Blogville Comedy film Festival. The film fest will open tomorrow, so he has a lot to do.

I asked him to arrange fur the caterers to bring some sardine toppings fur the popcorn and he promised to try.

Louis said that I can blog about whatever I want today, so I thought I would let you know some facts about me, myself and I.  Here goes:

What is my favorite food from the store?

you will never guess, but it is Cesar's porterhouse steak flavored dog food, designed fur small dogs. We don't get it very often, but when we do, there is a race to our food dishes!

How old am I?

Five years old, give or take...

Why can't I make a sound?

I was born this way. I have never been able to purr, howl, growl, hiss or make any of the sounds that cats usually make. The vet says I was probably born with a defective voice box, but Mimi says there are no possible defects in me.
To compensate, I have developed an ultra-strong sense of hearing.

What is my own fave body part?

That's a hard one. If I had to choose just one part, it would be my magnificent tail. Take a look:

Yes I am proud of my tail!

What do I hate?

I hate peeps who are mean to anipals. I also hate it that the hunting grounds of wild anipals are being so widely destroyed. And I hate it that so many peeps think that anipals don't have feelings. We really do.

What do I love?

I love (not in any order) my secret sleeping spots, rolling on the paved walkways, walking with Louis and Mimi, hunting feathered things and catching mousies.

What I love - Catching mousies!

Now you know more about me. Thanks fur stopping by!

From Vancouver,
Hazuzu the Cat

Blogville Fun

This coming Saturday, Blogville will be having TWO SPECIAL EVENTS that everybuddy is invited to. Pawsinally, I am furry excited and I just can't wait!

There will be the furst ever BLOGVILLE COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL, hosted by the Blogville Department of Arts and Entertainment.

The festival is free fur all Blogville residents and their furends, all you need to do is go to the Blogville Arts and Entertainment website, take a seat and have a good laugh.

All of the videos were entered by our Blogville furends and they will definitely make you smile!

Also all day on  Saturday, Angel Sammy and Teddy are hosting a BACON HARVEST PAWTY!!

You can read more about it at Two Spoiled Cats.

My plan is to go to the bacon bash furst, and then relax at the film festival.

Angel Sammy introduced me to the world of bacon and now I say from experience that LIFE IS BETTER WITH BACON1  Mimi barely ever has it in the house and when she does they don't want me to have it. Pawever, on Saturday I get to go and harvest as much bacon as I can eat! I'm even hoping to bring some home where Hazuzu and I can hide it and have our own stash of bacon treats fur whenever we want!

So come with me on Saturday to both the Bacon Harvest Pawty and the Comedy Film Festival. It will be so much fun!

Until Next Time,

The Good and the Bad

Hello to all of my furends, both anipal and human!
Asyou will see, today had both good and bad in it.
We have had a beautifur sunny day today and Mimi is happy that the flowers are finally starting to show their pretty faces.

Spring is here!
My kitty brother, Hazuzu, spent most of the afternoon prowling around the neighborhood, looking fur mousies.

Hazuzu
Pawsonally, I was not feeling well today so I didn't want to get out of bed.

Some days it's hard to drag my butt out of bed!
Once I did get mobile, I threw up. Once on the stairs and once under the coffee table in the living room. Weird, because I don't think I ate anything that was bad fur me.

Then I found a sun puddle and fell asleep.

I didn't even go to my office at the Blogville city hall today.

Me in my office.
Hopefully I can work tomorrow, because I need to organize all of the Blogville Comedy Film Festival entries. The ones I've seen so far are hilarious!

Well, that's all fur now. I'm going back to sleep!

Away Too Long!

OMD I have missed my Blogville furends. So much has been happening lately that I have barely had time to take care of those things that are so impawtant to me - such as commenting on, or even reading my furends' blogs.

I feel as if I was swept away by a tidal wave.

In the furst place, Mimi has been distracted by things related to Grandma Rose. Do you remember Grandma Rose? Fur those who don't, she is Mimi's 93-year-old mother, who lives in Victoria. We live in Vancouver.

Last week. Grandma Rose moved to a residential care facility where she will be able to receive the care she needs. It is a nice place with kind staff and what Mimi and her sister call "a good vibe". So far Grandma Rose likes it, but it has only been six days.

This time, when Mimi went to see Grandma Rose, she took me with her. This was sensible, because I have a good influence on elderly peeps. After all, I am a medicine dog. Most dogs are.

My uncle Chris is one of Grandma Rose's grandsons. He came with us, making the trip even more special.

Here I am in the car, waiting in the ferry lineup:

Beside me is my Uncle Chris.

I have known Grandma Roseever since I was a little puppy and we love each other and I am always happy to see her.  I am sure that I make her happy.

Here we are together:

Grandma Rose with me, in Victoria

Grandma Rose has a few problems. One is that she chokes on her food, so everything has to be ground up like baby food, and even then it is sometimes difficult for her to get it down. I know what ground up food is like. Have you looked at canned dog food lately?  I definitely have a special understanding of what she is going through, so I give her tons of kisses and love.

Besides being good medicine fur Grandma Rose, I have been encouraging Mimi who has been helping to take care of her good friend who is in his last stage of life. She makes meals fur him and sits with him because he can't be alone any more. Mimi says he is an amazing peep who made a huge positive difference in her life. She says that love is the most impawtant ingredient in the food she makes fur him. She is learning that cooking can be a sacred art.

Also, Mimi has been editing a book that someone is writing. She spends a lot of time reading it, making suggestions and talking to the author. Fur me this is troublesome because I can hardly get on the computer!

I need to mention that the dead lion fur entries to the Blogville Comedy Film Festival  "Laughter is the Best Medicine" is fast approaching. We only have three entries - and one is from my brother Hazuzu the Cat who I had to force into it.   If you can, please send a link to a funny video.

The Comedy Film Festival is sponsored by the Blogville Department of Arts and Entertainment.

Everything you need to know is here.

I am so happy to be back in Blogville today.

Your Furend in Vancouver,
Louis Dog Armstrong

March A and E Challenge!

Hello Everybuddy and Aroooo!!!

It is time fur the Blogville Arts and Entertainment challenge fur March, 2017. I am sending this a little bit late and fur this I am a sorry dog!

Here it is:

We have already completed two art challenges, so this one is more of an entertainment challenge. It involves the medium of film.  No, we won't be making videos. This one is super-duper easy-peasy.

This is Your Invitation

to Enter

The Blogville Comedy Film Festival

"Laughter is the Best Medicine"

There is an old saying: "Laughter is the best medicine."  The purpose of this film festival is to laugh while we entertain ourselves and each other.  The films will always be available, all in one place: on the Blogville Arts and Entertainment website. That way, whenever a B-ville resident feels stressed or depressed, he or she can visit the comedy film festival page and instantly feel better.

This is what we will do;

1. Go to YouTube and find a funny video to share.  Your video could be about anipals but it does not have to be.  The only rule about video selection is that the video must be funny.

2. Send to me at  louisbloggingdog(@)gmail(dot)com the following:

  • The link to your chosen YouTube video;
  • Your name as you want it written on the website;
  • The name of your blog or website;
  • The URL to your blog or website.
3. The dead lion fur getting this to me is March 19, 2017 at the stroke of midnight, whatever time zone you live in.

4. The videos will all be posted on March 25, 2017, on the Blogville Arts and Entertainment website.

5. All pawticipants will receive a special badge that they can place on their blog!

5. The Arts and Entertainment Department is also inviting you to post your funny video in a blog post on March 25th. Let's make all of Blogville laugh all day!

Here is an example of a video that would work fur this.

If you have any questions about the Blogville Comedy Film Festival, just message me through this site.

Please pass this notice on to your networks. The more who are involved, the better!
