The Blogville Election

Blogville is wonderfur. One thing that proves it is the election we just had. Both candy dates, along with their running mates were absolutely pawsome.  I had a furry difficult time deciding who to vote fur because they were all terrriffic.

I had a hard time deciding!
I especially want to say to Christmas and Oreo:

Thank you fur your grreat pawticipation. During the debates I feel that I got to know you and I hope we will be furever furends! You ran a terrriffic campaign.

And I would like to say to Arty and Mabel:

Congratulations! During the campaign I feel that I got to know you two as well. I am proud to be your furend and I know you will do a grreat job.

Blogville really is the best. As many have said and I will say it again, the human world could learn a lot from the anipals here.

Hello to Blogville

Hello to my Blogville furends on this rainy Vancouver day.  The weather has been so cold and wet that I don't like going fur long walks. My tummy is so close to the grrround that my white furs get all muddy and I get cold.  I do have a rain coat, but my paws get so wet and as I said, so does my belly.

I could also use an umbrella on days like these!

This weather is no fun like when the sun is all shining. That's when I could go fur hours!

So this evening I decided to stay indoors and work on designing my pawfect home, just in case I ever want to become an interior dogcorator. Combining my wish fur peace and my love of cozy beds, this is what I designed. Efurrything is close to the grround fur dogs.
What do you think?

Lots of room for chasing balls and playing squeaky toy games.

I would have placed a fire hydrant in there but Mimi said it might give me ideas. Even on the most miserable days I have to go out, if only fur a few minutes, to do my business.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Once again I am joining Sammy from One Spoiled Cat with his Thoroughly Poetic Thursday poetry challenge. Today's poem features the letter "U".

UNDER

Under everything I go
Under not over
Fast and not slow.
Looking fur my squeaky toy
Because it gives me so much joy.
I think I left it under a chair,
But when I look it isn't there;
Under tables and under hats,
But all I find are baseball bats!

I hope Sammy likes my poem and I hope you do too.
It was a little bit hard to write.

Louisdog's Latest This and That

Hello to all my furends and hello November!
It is time for another session of Louisdog's This and That.

THIS

For all of the anipals who blog, I thought you would like this. The dogs will especially relate:

THAT

I want to thank Dory fur hosting a spooktacular Howleen pawty last night. It was amazing. Food, lots to do and so many furends.  This is what I looked like at the pawty. I was dressed as a human.

THIS

Hazuzu has been playing basketball. He is actually pretty good. All of that mousie chasing has kept him in good shape.  I wonder if there is an NBA for kitties.

And while I am on the subject of Hazuzu, I want to thank him fur the guest post that he wrote on Caturday. I don't really approve of how he went on and on about how handsome he is, but that is how he is.  He is basically a furry good kitty and he always has my back.

THAT

What do you think of this selfie?  That soft thing with the anipal prints on it is Mimi's slipper.  She luvs animal things as well as soft things. She also wearsher jammies and slippers a lot!

THIS

Scientific fact: All dogs share a special connection because we are all descended from wolves. To me this is amazing. Even though dogs can appear very different, we have more similarities than differences.

In our house we all luff wolves.

 THAT

Mimi believes in fairies. She thinks that if she makes a fairy garden that the real fairies will feel comfortable there and move in. This is one of the fairy gardens that Mimi made. It was in front of our house.

Well, that is enough of this and that fur now.
I hope you enjoyed it!

A Letter From Louis

Dear Blogville Furrends,

I thought I would write a letter to everybuddy, just to let you know how grrrateful I am fur my Blogville furrends.

A letter from Louis

A dog's life is shorter than an elephant's so it is impawtant to make the most of evfurry day.  Part of making the most of today is to write to my furrends.

Furst I want to say that I feel blessed to be part of Blogville. I have only been here since July, but it has changed my woofy life. Already I have received gold medals fur the Blogville Pawlympics, I have attended some pawsome pawties and I was able to pawticipate in some pirate adventures on Talk Like a Pirate Day.

One thing coming up that I am looking forward to is an interview with Bacon. Bacon, the sassy pot bellied pig, found me wandering on the streets of Blogville. He invited me to pawticipate in his "Spotlight Thursday" interview on Thursday, October 20th. I plan to be there!

More impawtant than the activities, pawever, is the beautifur furends I have made. Everybuddy in Blogville is kind, encouraging and welcoming. Blogging anipals and their peeps have always had the time to help me with anything I have needed help with. It has been wonderfur.

Speaking of beautifur furrends, Astro was welcomed to Blogville on the same day as me. I know he luvves it here too. Astro is my good furrend and I hope you will visit him at his blog.

I am also grrratefur that Blogville welcomed my kitty-brother, Hazuzu, with open paws. Hazuzu is not pawticularly sociable, but Blogville could see that he is definitely lovable.

Blogville welcomed Hazuzu with open paws

What I am trying to say in this letter is

THANK YOU BLOGVILLE!!

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving

Today is Canadian Thanksgiving. Fur Hazuzu and me it is an opportunity to stuff ourselves with yummy turkey.

Kitties and dogs dreams come true!

The pawpose of this holiday is fur peeps to remember to be thankful and to give thanks.

As you pawbably know, the "First Thanksgiving" was celebrated by the first English settlers in North America after their first harvest. This was in 1621. The feast lasted three days, and was attended by 90 indigenous First Nations people and 53 pilgrims. We don't know how many dogs. The pilgrims were very hungry when they furst arrived in North America but the First Nations people taught them about the wild turkeys that lived in the region. This literally saved their butts from starvation. This is why we always have turkey, along with autumn vegetables, at our Thanksgiving dinners.

Peeps all over North America have celebrated this holiday ever since, although Canada and the United States do it on different days. Back in 1621, pawever, Canada and the USA had not yet been formed.

This painting is called The First Thanksgiving. It was painted by Jean Leon Gerome Ferris in 1899. Mimi says that Ferris romanticized the first Thanksgiving by adding elements that are unrealistic but appealing to the emotions. Pawsonally, I like the painting because it has a dog who is watching the plate of turkey. There is nothing unrealistic about that!

See the dog getting in on the turkey!

Here in Canada we have a long weekend. Tomorrow (Monday) is a statutory holiday. Most peeps with dogs would see this as a good oppawtunity to take their dogs out to somewhere special, but not Mimi!

In our pack family, Thanksgiving is a day when we all think about what we are grrateful for in our lives. At the dinner, the peeps go around the table and everybuddy says things they are thankful for.

Mimi is being selfish. She sees the Thanksgiving long weekend as a great chance to binge watch the Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries on Netflix. She has abandoned her responsibilities and has watched fifteen episodes in the past three days. I don't get it!

Miss Fisher puts Hazuzu and me to sleep. Here I am in front of episode 13:

Good night! There are no dogs in this programme!
Miss Phrynie Fisher is a private detective and this is what she looks like:

Mimi has abandoned her life to watch this person.

This is not the first time Mimi has done this. It happened with Bones, Prison Break, Downton Abbey, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and more that this dog can even remember. What the cat and I have learned through all of this is that she goes into an altered state of consciousness where she becomes irresponsible. Dishes pile up, my walks are shorter, she doesn't leave the house. She quits baking and makes the easiest meals. Pawever, she will come out of it eventually, once the series is over. we just have to wait.

Meanwhile, we have enough food, water and treats. And now there is turkey.

Hazuzu and wish you all, anipals and peeps and especially our Blogville furends

Happy Thanksgiving!

Louisdog's This and That

It's time fur another This and That post. Just a little bit of this and a little bit of that.  Here goes:

THIS

Do you remember my good pal So-So?  I have mentioned him before. So-So is one of my best furrends. He lives in my 'hood and he was rescued from death row by our neighbors. Everybuddy loves So-So because he is so gentle and loving.

Anypaw, So-So came over this morning to play with me. His mom and Mimi had tea and CHOCOLATE. Why they would have one of the things that dog's can't have is a mystery. How rude of them to eat it in front of us!

Here I am wid So-So and his mom.

THAT

Hazuzu likes to sit in cardboard boxes, laundry baskets and market bags.  I like boxes and laundry baskets myself, but I do draw the line at market bags. They are too small to make a comfortable spot.

Today Mimi left one of these bags in the living room with some of her clothes in it. Hazuzu wasted no time claiming it as his own.

The kitty is actually inside the bag.

THIS

Mimi says I look scruffy so she made an appointment fur me to have a furcut at my fave place. It's called Spa Dog. Kaylee is the one who gives me a bath and cuts my fur. They have treats there, everything is organic and it all smells so good.  This is me with Kaylee, after one of my furcuts:

Kaylee loves dogs.

THAT

I rruff cute anipal photos. Here are some of little girld wid anipals.

A grrrl wid a tree rat. She better be careful!
Real furever love!

A sweet baby goat wid his furrend.

They are having quite a conversation!
Well this is the end of this and that. Or that is the end of this.
Until next time,

The Smartest Dog

Woofy hello to everybuddy. I want to tell you about my anipal Juno.

Juno and his mom came by to visit me. Mimi always gets the treats out when Juno comes over and Juno always shows off by doing tricks that I don't know how to do. Stuff like "play peek-a-boo". The peeps all make a big deal out of his antics.

I don't mind because whenever he does a cool trick and gets a treat, I get one too. I end up with as many treats as Juno, even though I don't have to do a thing!

Does that prove that I'm the smartest dog in the room?

Cats with Guns

It is the day after Woof Like A Pirate Day and I am feeling sick! Terrible head ache! Too much rum!

But it was so much fun, wid all of Blogville and the Kitty Blogosphere all dressed up, meowing and woofing like pirates.

Hazuzu, my kitty and also my best furrend, is still dressed like a pirate. He says he is sick to death of wearing nothing but orange fur all the time and he needs a change.

I pawsonally like his orange furs but I do understand.

For those of you who didn't see him yesterday, this is how he looks.  He won't even take his hat off and the only time he puts the gun down is when he leaves the house to find mousies.  That's because Mimi says guns are not toys and they should not be in the hands of kitties.

Pirate Hazuzu

Hazuzu disagrees wid Mimi about taking the gun outside, but she won't change her mind. No kitties wid guns outside, and no means no.

So this morning Hazuzu took out his kitty credit card and  ordered two books from Amazon. You guessed it -

Hazuzu can't wait fur this book to arrive.

The other book Hazuzu ordered from Amazon
I think that the kitty is a bit of an extremist.
Not only that, but we live in Canada, which is a land of gun control. Mimi couldn't even get a gun if she wanted one, so what is this about kitties with guns?

I told Hazuzu that he shouldn't even think of  hunting mousies with a gun because if he stops using the skills he was born with along with his sharp claws and his teeth, he will get out of practice and lose his natural abilities.

He told me to mind my own business, and that hurt my feelings!

What do you think? Should kitties should go hunting wid guns?

Well that is the news from our house fur today. Thanks fur stopping by!

Talk Like a Pirate Day

Guess who is practicing his pirate talking? Yes, it is me, Louis Dog Armstrong!
International Talk Like a Pirate day is on September 19th, and all of Blogville is invited to celebrate.
And I am feeling so special because along with a kitty I am hosting the event. The kitty is named Bear Cat and can be found at Momma Cat and her Bear Cat. That Bear Cat is a beautifur kitty and if I don't mind saying so, I'm not a bad looking dog!

To get the badges fur this event just go to Zoolatry, which is the blog of our furends Dougie Dog and the pretty kitty Zoey.

The furst badge has a picture of both Bear Cat and me:

You can get this badge for your blog at Zoolatry.

There are two more badges, one of Bear Cat and the other of just me.

They were all designed by the amazing Ann at Zoolatry.

I hope you will come by on September 19th to bark like a pirate with me. By then my pirate barking skills should be pretty good.

Ann is the one who designed my header and the rest of my blog. Before she came along my blog had a generic design that didn't represent my woofy self. Ann fixed it all up and gave me a look that reflects the real Louis. I rruff her!

Not a Happy Day

I feel rrrufff today. In fact, I just threw up on the living room floor. Grrr it's not good!

Does anyone know why I want to eat my own vomit?  It's disgusting but I can't help myself.

I can't think of anything bad that I ate.

I think I will go back to sleep...

I'm needing more sleep.

Happy Caturday!

Happy Caturday to everybuddy!

I asked Hazuzu if he would like to make a guest post today, but he didn't want to. He did say, pawever, that he might do one another time. I would like that because his kitty perspective on things is different than mine.

Hazuzu on a Caturday

For Hazuzu, every day is Caturday.

Today I thought I would show you a couple of Mimi's Cat paintings. They are in Hazuzu's Etsy store. Can you believe ir?  My kitty has his own store, in pawtnership with Mimi. The name of the store?  You might have guessed - HAZUZU.  Mimi makes the art and Hazuzu does the rest. At least that's how I think it works.

Now back to the paintings. This one is called "Happiness with a Cat".

Happiness with a Cat

This painting is called "Orange Cat on a Rug".

Orange Cat on a Rug

This next one is not a painting. Mimi makes a lot of jewelry and this is a pair of kitty earrings.

Hand Made Kitty Earrings

If you have time and you want to, you can visit Hazuzu's Etsy Store and look around. There is never any pressure and you can see the kind of work that Mimi does.

Once again, Happy Caturday!
