My Morning Visitor

At our house, visitors often knock on the door to visit the dog. That's how it was yesterday morning.

I just ruff it when there is a knock on the door and I can immediately tell that one of my furrends is calling on me.

That's what happened yesterday morning when Kobe came by. Kobe is a friendly dog who actually lives in New Westminster. He has been staying for a few days with Mimi's friend Bonnie while his forevers are out of town. Bonnie has a cat named Little Miss who doesn't mind dogs, so Kobe has been more than welcome.

Kobe is my furrend

We hung out in our little garden and watched butterflies. After awhile we went inside and Kobe ate some of my food.  When it was time for Bonnie and Kobe to leave, Mimi gave us both my best liver treats. I don't mind sharing so long as there are enough for me!

Kobe likes it in the garden!

The thing I like so much about Kobe is that he is an easy going guy. He is quiet (not like me) and he goes along with whatever we do. The only thing he was worried about was that he didn't want Bonnie to leave. He even stayed right at the bathroom door when she went in there. Mimi says this is because his forever family is away, so he is feeling a bit insecure. I am sure he was happy that Bonnie stayed with him and took him home with her when it was time to leave.

Come back any time!

Kobe, if you are reading this, know that you are welcome back any time!

Pawlympics Ear Flapping Event

I am so sorry that I missed the dead lion for the Blogville Pawlympics ear flapping event! My new friend Joseph (Joey Dog) Spaniel from The Daily Bone is hosting it.

The dead lion was July 15th and here it is already the 26th! I am eleven days late!

Joey Dog says he set this competition up mainly for long eared dogs but I gotta tell you that even though I have small pointed ears, now that I've been practicing I can flap them better than any spaniel!

Joey Dog also says that for the event our ears should be flapping while we run, jump or something like that. Well my skills have become so good that I don't need to rely on the wind. I CONTROL MY WOOFY EAR FLAPPING ALL BY MYSELF!!

Tongue out...See how hard I'm trying?
Do I really hafto wait for a whole other year to see if they will have this event again? What if they don't?

I was thinking of asking Joey Dog if he would like a squeaky toy and some treats in exchange for extending the dead lion, but then it would look like bribery and I don't want to be in trouble with the Blogville authorities. I'm friends with the candidates for mayor and I don't want to put them in a conflict of interest!

Also my new friend Sarge who gave me a warm welcome to Blogville is the police commissioner. He is a woofy fellow!

What should this little dog do?

Here are some more photos of my ear flapping:

Ear flapping practice on the sofa

Ear flapping on the bed, even when a peep is touching the thing attached to my collar!

Even Joey Dog can never extend the dead lion and I can't compete in this event in the Blogville Pawlympics, at least you can all see my great ear flapping skills. Thanks for looking and peace to all of the animal kingdom!

Blues on a Saturday

Louis the Blogging Dog here...It's Saturday night and I just thought I'd write a quick post before the day is over.

But let me tell you about this afternoon...

OMD! Something TERRIBLE happened. It would make any dog cry.

I was takin my peep for a walk around my 'hood as usual. Suddenly my paw started to hurt. It hurt a lot! I started limping but when my peep tried to touch my paw and look at it, it hurt so much that I wouldn't let her!

She couldn't understand, so we went straight home, but I still wouldn't let anybody touch my paw!

My peep decided to take me to the vet.

I HATE going to the vet because every time we go there I get stuck with needles, my privates get cut off or if I just ate chocolate they keep me there with an IV. I have had one bad experience after another at the vet's!

So today I was sooo upset when I found myself in the vet's parking lot. My paw was hurting like crazy but I didn't want to get outta the car!

My peep had to carry me like a baby.

They set me in the examining room to wait for the vet.

I was nervous and in pain!
I expected the worst!

Finally the vet came and my peep held me while he looked at my sore paw. Right away he said I had a bee sting and very quickly he pulled out the stinger. Instant relief!

A bad experience with a happy ending!

This is my vet with his manager on the right.

This was the first time that I can remember in almost ten years that my vet experience was a happy one.

So for the rest of the day they have treated me extra special.

Nobody blames the bee cause it was minding its own business and I stepped on it. My peep says that the world needs more bees. She loves bees. I probably hurt the bee more than it hurt me.
The world needs bees.

So that was my day. The walk, my paw, the vet, the bee...

Until Next Time,

Rrruff to my Blogville Frriends!

Here I am with some kids in my 'hood.

Louis the Blogging Dog here...I thought I would let you know what I've been up to.

The Blogville Pack

I can't even begin to tell you how woofy waggy tail happy I am to be part of the Blogville pack! It seems like there are some kitties here and maybe a few other animals, but mainly it's dogs. Dogs with blogs! For the longest time I thought I was the only one. Now I'm part of a pack of friendly dogs who also love the internet. I'm not a lone wolf any more!
Only thing is that I am sad that I still have zero followers! Who will be my first follower?

The Dogtionary

Sometimes I look up words in the dogtionary., even if it is just the online version. Yesterday, for example, I looked up the word "sentient". I chose this word because some governments have started to recognize dogs and other animals as sentient beings. I wanted to know exactly what that means.

sen·tient
ˈsen(t)SH(ē)ənt/
adjective
  1. able to perceive or feel things.
"she had been instructed from birth in the equality of all sentient life forms"
    synonyms:(capable of) feeling, living, live;
"any sentient creature should have the good sense to avoid something so dangerous."

l
If we are talking about animals there isn't anything there that we didn't already know. Of course animals have feelings! It's obvious that they are alive, conscious, aware, responsive and reactive. The only surprise to this dog is that it has taken until now for so many humans to figure this out and to decide that animals deserve protection.

Napping

As you can see, I've been practicing for the freestyle napping Pawlympics event. When I sleep I dream about things like when my brothers and I still lived with our black poodle mom. Then I wake up to find that I am in my forever home where I feel loved and secure. It's all good!

Do you think my tummy is too fat?

By the way, do you think my tummy is too fat for a dog?  If so, what kind of a diet should I go on? I get quite a bit of exercise taking the peeps for walks and chasing my squeaky toys. I just know that I used to be thinner.

 Computer Troubles

I share a computer with Mimi. She told me this morning that later this evening she has to drop the computer off at her technician's. We won't have it for a few days. I won't be posting untill Mimi gets it back. In the meantime, I rufff u all!

Things I Love the Most

Things I Love the Most

Hello to the Blogville World from Louis!

Just for fun I thought I would let you know about some of the beings and things I love the most. After all, I have been on this planet for almost ten woofy years. This is a lotta time to love.

Things I Love the Most (But not in Any Order)

1. My Rubber Chicken

This has been my very best favorite toy for years. Mimi doesn't have the heart to throw it out, even though I chewed off the legs and it doesn't squeak any more. I've had this toy longer than any other!

2. Hazuzu the Cat

I call him the Cat of Our Pack. Hazuzu is a big orange cat who is not very friendly. Mimi says this is because his dad was a feral cat. Friendly or not, I have been protecting and herding Hazuzu since he was a little kitten. We sleep together on Mimi's bed almost every night. Here we are, chillin on the sofa.

3. Kids

I have been around kids all my life. I rruff their energy. It's so much fun to play with them! Here I am taking my cousin Tia for a walk. Tia is pawsome! She just turned five years old and she is grrreat with animals.

4. Eric

Eric is in my forever family. I have lived with him since the day I left my mother. He goes out with me every day and that shows real love! Eric is Mimi's grandson. To me he is more like a brother.

5. My Dog Friends

It is super important for dogs to socialize with their own kind.  I am lucky that a lot of dogs live in my 'hood. I get to go for walks with them and we also have playdates. Here is a photo of So-So, who was rescued. He was nervous when he was first adopted but now he is a happy guy. I love spending time with So-So.

These are just a few of the things that I like. Of course there are many, many more.
Well thanks for reading this! If you have time, please head over to my Louis the Blogging Dog site.

Hello From Louis

Louis Dog Armstrong
Louis the Blogging Dog

I am so happy that you have found my woofy self! My name is Louis Dog Armstrong. I am a ten pound Maltipoo, living in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia with Hazuzu, a big orange cat. Hazuzu and I also live with two peeps named Mimi and Eric.  Mimi is Eric's grandmother.

This is Hazuzu:

I am a dog with a mission! My mission is to help build positive relationships between peeps and animals! Even if I only help a tiny bit it is worth it.

You can read about me and all of my adventures on my website, Louis the Blogging Dog and on my Facebook page.

Please visit Louis the Blogging Dog where you can sign up for my free newsletter, and if you have time I would love it if you would "like" my Facebook page!

I started this little Blogger blog just to let everyone know about some of the grreat animal blogs that are here on Blogger. Although my main blog is on WordPress, I just had to participate in the Blogville fun.

By the way, I am participating in the Pawlympics this year!

So far I am entered in the

Munro Bagging

For the Munro Bagging I have to be in Scotland for August 25th! If you are wondering what on earth is Munro Bagging, I will explain it to you.
In Scotland, a Munro is any hill more than 3000 feet high. There are 283 of these Munros and once you have climbed one you are said to have "bagged a Munro".

The Munro that I will be climbing is a very respectable one called Cairn Toul. Woof I am excited about this!
Thanks to Bouncing Bertie for organizing this event!

Freestyle Napping

The Freestyle Napping event is hosted by Hailey at the Hailey and Zaphod Chronicles. I'm already good at napping so I won't need to do a lot of practicing. However, it is competitive because pretty much all dogs are excellent nappers.

Smileys

The Smileys Pawlympics event takes place on August 20th. It is all about dogs with great smiles. I am not a natural smiley dog so I've had to practice. Thanks to Arty for organizing this one!

Stuffy Deading

I am good at killing stuffies so maybe I'll win! Stuffy Deading will be held on August 19th and it is run by Jakey. Should be fun!
