Thanks to Princess Leah

Time flies fast fur peeps but fur us dogs it is diffurent.  Dogs live in the moment and this is the moment when I write about my pawsome gifties from Princess Leah.

Fur anybuddy who doesn't know Princess Leah, she is a beautifur aristocratic dog who lives in England. And I was the lucky dog who was chosen to receive a Christmas pressie from her. And I do mean I am a lucky dog!

Do they really have squeaky toy bakeries in England? They must, because she sent me a squeaky cupcake and a squeaky doughnut! How cool is that?

Squeaky cupcake from England!

A doughnut from the squeaky bakery in England.

The box that Princess Leah sent me had a lot of other things as well. There were 3 Kong balls, in the pawfect small size fur me, reindeer antlers fur me to wear, and 2 kinds of healthy delicious treats, She also included a brand new dish fur my food. I will show a photo of that in a future post about food. I didn't even have my own dish befur, so this is grrreat!

Princess Leah also sent me some special bags so Mimi and Eric can now pick my poo up in style.  Although we love them I will pawbably not post a picture of that! A dog should have some expectation of privacy.

Princess Leah is a special dog. She blogs at Princess Leah's Blog. If you don't know her already, you can get to know her there.

Thank you beautifur Princess Leah from the bottom and the top of my woofy dog heart!

Hazuzu my kitty brother and I are living proof that Blogville is a grrreat place fur anipals at Christmas. We got tons of cards and Hazuzu received pawsome gifties from Madi. We only moved into Blogville last July (on the same day as Astro) so this is the furst time we ever had mail. We are loving it!

I hope you are all doing well.

Hazuzu says Hello

Hello to Blogville and the rest of the world. This is Hazuzu the Cat, brother of Louis. Louis is celebrating with Cricket at Dory's 13th birthday pawty. I have decided to stay home to blog a little and play with my new catnip toys that Madi sent me.

Here is a photo that Dory published of Louis and Cricket at the pawty. It is their furst date and they do look good together, don't you think?

Ruby the Airedale got them together. Louis is totally happy wid her yente services.

Louis and Cricket at Dory's pawty

You can see lots of Dory's pawty pictures at Dory's Back Yard.

Yesterday was Christmas day and I finally opened the presents that Madi sent me'. OMD they wre pawsome!
Furst I opened a catnip mousie. Everybuddy who know me understands my passion fur mousies. This one is divine!

I have a purrrsonal passion fur mousies!

As usual, Louis wanted it fur himself. He has been stealing my toys all my life. I know that he comes across to his Blogville furends as a super good guy, but he can actually be quite annoying.  Especially fur the cat who lives wid him.

The fact is that I am bigger than Louis and I have massive claws. I could beat him up if I felt like it, but I have never scratched him in all these years.

Back when I was a baby kitten, Louis would hold me in his mouth and drag me around the house. He never hurt me. Now that I am the big one, I don't have it in my heart to fight wid him. So I let him steal my stuff.

Louis always steals my stuff.

This time he took the brand new mousie that Madi sent me, but Mimi got it from him and returned it to me. She had to snoopervise him after that.

Next I opened something amazing. A RAT!  That Madi knows exactly how to please this cat!

This one is called DA RAT.

We took it out of the package and it feels like the real thing when I play wid it. Yum!

Take a look at what else Madi sent me;

These are mazing1

It is a pack of stinky sardines!! I never saw these before. Maybe they don't have them in Canada. They are these beautifur toy catnip sardines. Sooo strong, they make me feel like I am in kitty heaven.

I love these sardines!

So thank you Madi fur the thoughtful gifties. I know that you don't pawsonally chase mousies like I do, but you still picked out the things that mousers love. You are a good furend and a pawsome cat!

Madi blogs on Madi and Mom Down Home is NC.

Well I have to get off the computer, have another nap and them play wid my toys.

Hazuzu the Cat

Christmas Day

To all of my Blogville furends,

Wishing you a happy Christmas and a wonderfur year to come. Blessings on all of the creatures, peeps, furry ones, four leggeds, ones that lay eggs, swimmers and scaley crawling ones. Six leggeds and eight leggeds, those that fight for existence and those we see each day.

Ruby's Yente Services

Something amazing happened last night. Yente Ruby the Airedale found me a girldog to date!
Can you guess who it is?

It's beautifur Cricket from Sketching With Dogs! You know - Elliot's little sister.

And I think she likes me, too!

Ruby found me a special girl!
Cricket is a lot younger than I, so I promised myself that I would treat her like a precious jewel. I told her mom that I will be a pawfect gentledog.

I was feeling a little lonely before, but not now. Now I have a real live date!

Thank you Ruby fur being such a pawsome yente!

Letter to Santa Paws

Dear Santa Paws,

I want you to know that I have tried all year to be a good dog. It is not always easy, and I am sorry fur the times that I stole Hazuzu's toys. I am also sorry fur barking too much at the window and fur not trying to be furends with Rocco, even though everybuddy says that Rocco is a nice dog.

I just hope that you will bring me some things that I will love. I am definitely easy to please.

I am also writing on behalf of my kitty-brother, Hazuzu. As you know, Hazuzu is not furry sociable, but it's not his fault. He also spends part of his days chasing and catching mousies, and some peeps would say that this makes him bad, but really he is just acting like a kitty. So I hope you bring him something he will love.

Fur example, Hazuzu  would like any of these toys:

Toys all good fur kitties

If you bring Hazuzu something like one of these, I will try not to steal it from him.

I hope you will bring me something also. I like squeaky ducks like this dog has:

Squeaky ducks are good fur dogs.
I would like a nice tie like this, fur when I work in the Blogville municipal office. I need to look good because I am Director of Arts and Entertainment:

Our new mayor Arty has a tie like this.

I would also love some dog treats. Homemade ones are good, so if Mrs. Paws has time, maybe she could make me some:

These treats look pawsome!

I also love these toys that peeps can fill with little treats:

These are so much fun!

Well Santa Paws, thank you fur reading my letter. I hope you will remember all of the homeless kitties and dogs out there, especially in the cold winter weather.

I love you, Santa Paws. Say hello to your reindeer from me.

Your Best Furend,
Louis Dog Armstrong

This and That Day!

Welcome to another session of Louisdog's This and That!

THIS:

We have a very famous kitty here in Vancouver. His name is Benjamin Button, but is called Ben Ben. He is known as "the saddest cat in the world".

Ben Ben is orange, like my kitty, Hazuzu

When he was brought into the SPCA,  BenBen had a crushed spine, a crumpled ear, and cuts and bruises all over his body. They think he might have been attacked by a larger animal.
Beb Ben wouldn't drink, eat or play, and the vet thought that he might never walk again. He was in pain and they thought he would probably die. He was scheduled to be put down because it was felt that even if he survived, he would require specialized care and would need someone with special qualifications to care for him.

A woman who worked in an emergency vet clinic heard about Ben Ben through her work and she decided to try to adopt this deserving cat. She showed up at the shelter just in the nick of time because Ben Ben was scheduled to be euthanized the next day. The SPCA was happy to let her take the kitty home.

You can read about Ben Ben in this Huffington Post article.

THAT:

The other day when I was at PetSmart I saw a bunny. There has never been a rabbit I didn't like and I never bark at them. I always want to be friends. Here I am trying to check him out:

I like bunnies a lot!
I didn't get to spend quality time with this pawticular rabbit because Mimi was afraid that he might be afraid of me. So we left right away.

THIS:

The snow is still with us and it's colder than ever. I don't mind it a bit!

These dogs like the snow

THAT:
I am furry excited about my new job as Blogville's director of Arts & Entertainment. I have a lot of ideas fur projects that we can work on. It will be a fun year fur all of us, I am sure.

I am a lucky dog!

Well that is enough this and that fur today. I hope you are all having a wonderfur week and I'll hopefully be seeing all of you around Blogville.

Christmas Shopping!

As you pawbably know, I live in Vancouver. All week there has been nothing but snow, which made it impawssible fur Mimi to leave the house between last Monday and yesterday, which was Sunday. This is because of Mimi's mobility problems. She has to use a walker. And the embarrassing fact that Mimi furgot to put anti freeze in her car, so she had to keep it parked in the underground parking all week.

Lucky fur me, lots of peeps like taking me fur walks. Eric takes me a lot and when he is not around I have Jonathan, Lucy and their mom. I also have So-so and his pawrents. And of course Nelly-Joe and Sarah like to walk me.

The other thing is that I love the snow. I kick my paws in it and I love to run and jump in it. Snow makes me happy!

But back to yesterday. It was Mimi's furst day out and she took me to Petsmart, which is one of my very best favorite places.  We went Christmas shopping!

Here is what it was like:
I was so excited to see these squeaky toys!
I got some dog food that I like and that is good fur me, and I got a new squeaky toy. It's a hamburger wearing a Santy Paws hat. We also bought Hazuzu some catnip toy mousies.

I don't know what the big deal about catnip is, but Hazuzu gets all crazy fur it. One time Mimi tried to grow some in a pot on the patio but Hazuzu completely killed it by eating it right out of the ground.

Last night it snowed again!

It's good that we have everything we need at home because we might be snowed in fur another few days, which is fine with me.

More About Grandma Rose

More About Grandma Rose

Some of you have asked about Mimi's mother, who we call Grandma Rose. Grandma Rose was born in 1923, so she has seen more than almost any dog. She has not been well lately and it has become difficult for her to walk. She has become very tiny, less than 100 pounds. We are grateful, however, that she knows everything that is going on. Mimi wants to spend as much time with Grandma Rose as she can.

Until last July, Grandma Rose lived independently in her own home. Now she is in a place called "Assisted Living" where the peeps that run the place sometimes frown at dogs. But Mimi found out that it's OK to have a dog as a visitor, they just can't live there. And they aren't supposed to bark or annoy anybuddy.

It is hard fur me not to bark because I am good at home security.

Grandma Rose likes dogs. This might be because in the 1920's, her dad bred Boston Bull Terriers.  She says that the puppies were the cutest.

Boston Bull Terrier Puppy, like the ones that Grandma Rose's Dad Raised
Mimi says that she will try to take me with her the next time she visits Grandma Rose. This is because I am good medicine. Before Grandma Rose moved into assisted living, she would take me every time.

Until last July, Grandma Rose was completely independent.
Thank you everybuddy fur caring about Grandma Rose. Mimi  is very worried about her. She is losing her physical health quickly and will probably have to move to a different place where she will get more care.

Right now, though, Grandma Rose is happy with where she is living.

Louisdog Comes Home!

I am back at home, hanging out with Mimi, Eric and the kitty. I had a good time staying with my friends but it is always good to be back on my own sofa.

As some of you might remember, Mimi left me with Lucy and Jonathan while she went to Victoria to spend some time with Grandma Rose. Grandma Rose is Mimi's mother. She is 93 years old and has not been feeling well.

I was lucky to be able to be with Lucy and Jonathan. They both like dogs and I have taught them a lot. Also, Jonathan loves squeaky toys, which is a real bonus.

While I was at their house I helped them put up their Christmas tree. You can see it in the background of this photo.

Look at my face in the photo. Can you tell that I am enjoying myself?

Here I am with Lucy and Jonathan.
You can see that Lucy and Jonathan are wonderfur kids.

When I arrived at their house I was a bit of a dirty smelly dog. All the dirt shows on my white furs and Mimi did not have time to bath me.

So guess what happened?
Jonathan gave me a bath. It was the furst time he ever bathed a dog, so I had to teach him how it is done. He is a quick learner nd he did a grrreat job!

Jonathan gave me a bath.
I have to say that I was furry well cared fur while Mimi was away. I even got to the point where I got all excited and jumped up and down when the kids came home from school.

Yes I am happy to be with my furever family again. But it's good that my heart is big enough to hold love fur other peeps as well.

Thanks to Lucy and Jonathan fur sharing their love and their home with me. I am so happy they are my friends!

Grandma Rose

This is to let my Blogville friends know that starting tomorrow I will be away fur a few days. Mimi is going to Victoria to see her mom, who we all call Grandma Rose. Grandma Rose is 93 years old. I cannot imagine what that is in dog years.

This is Grandma Rose

While Mimi is away I will be staying with Lucy and Jonathan, who are kids, and their mom. I like them a lot but I hate it when I have to be away from my furever family!

I can't use the computer at Lucy and Jonathan's house, which is quite annoying. However, I will be sure to post something as soon as I can once I am back at home.

Peace to everybuddy!
